Ayurveda originated more than 2,500 years ago with contributions from Hindus and Buddhists alike. The word 'ayu' means life, and 'veda' means knowledge or learning. Ayurveda translates to 'Knowledge of Life'.

Ayurvedic treatment starts with an internal purification process, followed by a special diet, herbal remedies, massage therapy, yoga and meditation.

Almonds are:

To Reduce Congestion...

Roast carom seeds. Dry roast carom seeds in a pan until they turn brown and release their aroma. Once roasted, wrap them in a thin cloth and place them on your chest or nose as a warm compress.

Roast carom seeds have:

  1. Antimicrobial & anti-inflammatory properties.

Roasted carom seeds release thymol that helps to loosen mucus and phlegm, making breathing easier. The warmth of the seeds can also soothe irritated tissues in the nose and throat, relieving congestion.

For Constipation...

Apply hing (asafoetida) paste. Mix a thick paste of asafoetida and water. Apply this paste to the naval and massage it. This stimulates the digestive system and helps relieve constipation.

To Improve Digestion...

Drink a Ghee Mixture

Take one teaspoon of ghee, add it to warm milk (plant-based is ok, too) or water, and drink it an hour before bed. This helps to lubricate the digestive tract and stimulate bowel movement.
